Hello Poultry Pals! It's me, Gertrude McCluck, and I've come to tell you about my adventure in school. Ready? Here I go!
Well, it started as a normal morning. Then, Holly put Buck, the buff Orpington, and I into a pet carrier, except the door wasn't clamped all the way. Then I was brought to the house. That was when I found out I was supposed to go to school for show and tell. A while later it was time to go. So, we got put in the car and drove to school. Finally, the car slowed down and then stopped. We were at school!
We got taken into the office and sat there for a while. Then, we were on our way to the schoolroom. When we turned a corner, we hit the wall. Remember how I told you that the door the pet carrier wasn't closed all the way? Well, when we hit the wall, the door got unlatched and it swung open. I was kind of curious so, I jumped out of the pet carrier before Holly noticed. I quickly dashed around the corner. That's when my adventure began.
I had so much I wanted to do. First I wanted to look at art pictures. I decided to go left because I thought I saw some are at the end of the hall. Yes, I had found the art room. There were so many pictures I didn't know where to look. The group that caught my eye right away was the kindergartener's pictures. They were chickens. Wow! I never saw a pink chicken. Hey! That looks like a Silver Spangled Hamburg. I looked at the pictures a little more. Then I heard a whistle blowing. I followed the sound of the yelling to the gym, where I walked right in.
But, before you can say "chickens clucking" I ran out. I think they were playing dodge ball. I just watched from the door for a little while more. That way, I couldn't get hit by balls.
After a while of watching dodge ball, I got hungry. I could smell lunch cooking. I could smell...Corn! I followed the smell to the corn. I looked around. Nobody was around. So I jumped on a bench and ate all it all. I was full. I heard someone coming so I ran out of the lunchroom. That was when I heard the principle say on the loud speaker: there is a chicken on the loose. If you find her, tell Holly Gildernick. I wanted to be found so I went over to the lunch lady. She called Holly's classroom. Soon Holly came down and picked me up. There was no more time for show and tell because school was almost over. I didn't care. I liked looking around the school
That night, I told everyone in the coop my adventure. Well, I have to go. Bye.
