Gertrude McCluck got up from bed, ate her seed and oatmeal, and was feeling weary because she had nothing to do. So she decided to go on an adventure to the woods. But finding nothing to do there, she thought she would find something because there are many things to do in the woods. Gertrude McCluck said to herself, "I'm going to build a tree house." She decided to go home and get some pieces of wood. Going back to the woods and finding a good sturdy tree with a lot of branches, she climbed up the tree with some wood and rope. And then, finding that is was even sturdier than she thought, she decided that was where she would build her tree house.
She was building and building until night came. She had a very good idea. She went home and got all her things. Knowing that she had everything she needed, she stayed there forever and ever, and it's been 20 days since she had been living there. She decided that if she wanted things to play with, then she would go back home and get some more wood. She was building and building and when she was done, she had built some toys.
Then, she missed her friends. With the wood leftover, she decided to go back home to get one more piece of wood. She built a bigger tree house, went back to the coop, gathered all her friends up and took them to the bigger tree house. Gertrude said they were allowed to stay in the tree house coop. They lived happily ever after.
